Laser Puller Control Program , by Matthew Monroe

This program was written to control the Electrospray Needle Puller that I constructed using a CO2 laser and stepper motor. The program can independently control the duty cycle (and thus intensity) of the laser and the pulling speed and direction of the stepper motor, as indicated by the two Activity Tables. The second picture shows a pull in progess. The time elapsed and current laser duty cycle are displayed, along with the actual pull time of the stepper motor. The third picture shows the actual lasere pulling device, with a red line representing the CO2 laser beam, the yellow line the capillary, and green arrows indicating the direction of travel of the pulling mounts. The last picture shows a typical spray needle pulled on the laser puller (50 um ID capillary).
